Seasonally adjusted construction
output increased by 0.4% in the eurozone and 0.5% in the EU in
September 2023, according to preliminary estimates from
Eurostat, the European Union's statistical office. Construction
output fell by 1.1% in the eurozone and 0.8% in the EU in August
2023. Slovenia (+7.4%), Poland (+3.6%), and Slovakia (+2.3%) had
the highest monthly increases in construction production among
Member States for which data are available. Hungary and Romania
experienced the greatest decreases (both -1.9%), followed by
Portugal (-1.2%) and Austria (-0.9%).
