During the EU summit, Hungarian
Prime Minister Viktor Orban stated that today's European Union
is a "toothless lion," lacking resources and autonomous
strength.
According to the Prime Minister, Brussels has strategically
distanced itself from Washington: "The EU, together with the
Americans, is committed to extending NATO's borders up to
Russia.
However, the Americans now realize this was an irresponsible adventure, while Europe is still clinging to this strategy." Speaking about Ukraine's accession to the EU, Orban said he is not the only one in Europe with doubts.
"When it comes to
speaking frankly, only Hungary openly opposes Ukraine's EU
membership, but in the corridors, we are many," he said,
reiterating that he would block Kyiv's progress until the
Hungarian people have expressed their opinion in a national
consultation.
