According to the influential
Belgrade daily Politika, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic held
an urgent meeting last night with a select group of ministers to
discuss how to respond to Pristina's decision to ban the Serbian
dinar in Kosovo beginning tomorrow. According to Politika daily,
Vucic organised the meeting after Kosovo rejected the US,
European Union, and Quint countries' suggestion to postpone the
decision. Pristina's move is expected to spark the latest in a
long line of conflicts with Kosovo's Serb minority. Many Serbs
in Kosovo work for Serbian institutions, and their salaries and
pensions are paid in dinars.
