An investigation is going on in Serbia after Friday's collapse of the roof at the Novi Sad station. 14 people died and three were seriously injured.
Yesterday 26 people were heard by the investigators and anothers will be questioned today, Interior Minister Ivica Dacic told public TV station Rts.
The aim is to ascertain responsibility for the accident. So far no arrests have been made, Dacic said. Investigators are engaged to gather as much information and elements useful to the investigation as possible. Transport Minister Goran Vesic, his deputy and senior officials of the department in charge of inspections and controls reported to the investigators.
Representatives of the Railways of Serbia and the company that recently carried out renovation works at the station, from which the 60-year-old canopy was excluded, were also heard.
President Aleksandar Vucic called for rapid investigations and accountability on Friday. Minister Dacic added that the condition of the three injured remains serious.
