(ANSA-AFP) - BELGRADE, 03 NOV - More than 1,000 people
demonstrated in Serbia's capital on Sunday, demanding the
resignation of the construction minister over a deadly roof
collapse at a northern train station. On Friday 14 people were
killed when the roof of the train station in the northern city
of Novi Sad caved in. The tragedy occurred just months after the
station finished a major, years-long renovation, which did not
include the collapsed roof. On Sunday hundreds of protesters
rallied in front of the Ministry of Construction in the capital
Belgrade, after holding a minute's silence to honour the
victims. "It is only a question of time when something will fall
on our heads", protester Pavle Jaksic told AFP. "Changes have to
happen. There is someone responsible for everything, and those
responsible for this have to be found and removed from here as
soon as possible", Natasa Simeunovic, 26 said while holding up a
red-painted hand. The demonstrators threw red paint in front of
the ministry and called for the resignation of the minister of
construction, transport and infrastructure, Goran Vesic. The
protest was organised by student organisation "SviCe" (Rising).
