Slovenia will send a delegation
of 26 people to the 2023 United Nations Climate Change
Conference (COP28), which will be held in Dubai from November 30
to December 13, according to the Slovenian news agency STA. Tina
Kobilsek, Slovenia's main climate negotiator, will lead the
Eastern Europe group. The delegation will be led by President
Natasa Pirc Musar at the opening summit. Uros Vajgl, State
Secretary at the Environment Ministry, will attend the first
week of the conference in Dubai, while Environment Minister
Bojan Kumer will attend the second week, when ministerial-level
negotiations will take place.
Slovenia and the EU are hoping that decisions on tangible steps
for phasing out fossil fuels will be made at the summit, STA
recalled.
