"The ties with our neighboring Republic of Slovenia are growing stronger daily. Today's meeting in Trieste with Minister Arcon was also an opportunity to emphasize the importance of the upcoming event, GO!2025, which will further strengthen the connection between our region and our neighboring territory." This was stated by the Governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia, Massimiliano Fedriga, at the end of his meeting with Matej Arcon, Minister for Relations with Slovenians Abroad and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia.
"There are numerous initiatives we are developing together, in perfect harmony, through coordinated, joint, and shared projects," Fedriga stressed. "In our view, GO!2025 is the true first European Capital of Culture, representing the values of unity and brotherhood between two countries that, especially in a historical moment like the one we are living through internationally, embody the true essence of the European Union, to which we must always strive." "Finally, it's worth underlining that in 2025, Friuli Venezia Giulia will be present at the Osaka Expo in Japan, in the Italy Pavilion, where we will promote GO!2025. We would be particularly pleased," the governor added, "if Slovenia would also join us in using this opportunity to promote the European Capital of Culture in such an internationally significant context."
