The Czech and Ukrainian governments
will hold joint talks in Prague today on cooperation in the
defense sector, migration, energy cooperation, support for Czech
exports, and the involvement of Czech companies in Ukraine's
reconstruction.
The Prague Government Office released the meeting agenda.
Czech President Petr Pavel will receive Ukrainian Prime Minister
Denys Shmyhal in the afternoon. The joint meeting of the
governments follows the conference held in Kyiv at the end of
October 2022.
"The Czech Republic is Ukraine's key partner. We are very
grateful that Prague has pushed for Ukraine's accession to the
EU and NATO, as well as for the establishment of a special
tribunal for Russia's war crimes and for helping to return
children abducted by Russia to Ukraine," Shmyhal said at the
start of the talks.
During the bilateral meetings, Czech and Ukrainian ministers
will discuss, for example, improving transport links,
opportunities for Czech companies in the transport sector, and
the treatment of Ukrainian citizens in Czech medical facilities.
The Interior Ministers will sign an updated agreement on police
cooperation.
