Aiming to celebrate beauty through the different types of music, the international music festival and territories Nei suoni dei luoghi (In the Sounds of Places) is about to kick off its 26th edition. There are 37 concerts on the calendar in Friuli Venezia Giulia, with events in Slovenia and Austria, and a common thread leading to the Estonian city of Tartu, European Capital of Culture 2024, ahead of the big event in Nova Gorica and Gorizia in 2025.
It starts on June 7 and continues through December with concerts ranging from classical music to swing, from milonga to contemporary music, and from singer-songwriting to jazz.
More than 25 municipalities are united in this grand celebration of music, during which over 150 musicians from all corners of Europe will grace the stage. The lineup includes internationally renowned names and young talents from conservatories, academies, and schools of music improvement, all coming together to create a truly global musical experience.
The festival, presented in Gorizia, is organized by the association Progetto Musica under the artistic direction of violinist Valentina Danelon and pianist Gloria Campaner. The first international event is scheduled for June 7 in Gorizia: the hangar of the Duca d'Aosta airport will host the Ensemble Miroirs Étendus in the concert An Index of Metals. This event also opens the roadmap leading up to Go!2025 Nova Gorica and Gorizia European Capital of Culture.
"Once again, this year, FVG will be transformed into the stage of a unique cultural experience. The public and enthusiasts will be able to fully immerse themselves in the proposals, which include engaging performances and the discovery of places steeped in history and natural beauty, such as the Italian-Slovenian border, which no longer represents just a wall or an obstacle, but a new opportunity that FVG intends to offer to the Europe of tomorrow as a beating heart at the center of a European vision," underlined FVG Vice President in charge of Culture Mario Anzil.
The artistic direction explained that among the most anticipated events are Skyline with Compagnia Il Posto, the Scala String Quartet, Vinicio Capossela, accompanied by the Arrigoni String Academy, and Vasco Brondi.
