The preliminary list of EU
"projects of common interest" (PCI) on energy infrastructure
includes seven proposals involving Italy. They range from
electricity network interconnections between Corsica and
Sardinia and Sicily and Tunisia to two similar projects
connecting Italy and Austria, the "Italian backbone" for
hydrogen transport in the Italy-Austria-Germany corridor, and
two proposals for CO2 transport via tube. This is the first time
a PCI list includes hydrogen projects.
