Prospects for developing and
strengthening economic and trade cooperation between Serbia and
the Russian Federation were the focus of a meeting that Serbian
minister in charge of international economic cooperation Nenad
Popovic had on Saturday in Belgrade with Maksim Oreshkin, deputy
head of Russian President Vladimir Putin's administration.
As Serbian media reported, the meeting discussed in
particular the intensification of cooperation in the areas of
agriculture, robotics, energy, infrastructure, machinery, high
technology, information technology, digitalization and
innovation.
Popovic emphasized the importance first and foremost of the strategic collaboration and partnership in Russian gas supplies at favorable prices to Serbia, whose last contract was signed three years ago.
At the same time, the Serbian minister
remembered the importance of Russian support for Serbia
internationally, particularly on such crucial issues as Kosovo
and the resolutions on Srebrenica at the United Nations. "Serbs
and Russians will remain brothers forever, sharing common values
and interests, and based on mutual respect and support in all
areas," Popovic added.
