(ANSA) - BERLINO, 02 AGO - "Today Ukraine is defending
Poland, Europe, therefore also Germany. If the heroic Ukrainian
resistance does not stop Putin's imperial plans, Poland and the
Baltic states would be directly threatened by further expansion
of the Russian sphere of influence in Central Europe." This was
said by the Polish president, Andrzej Duda, in an interview with
the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. Duda added
that the Nord Stream pipeline remains his "great reproach to
Germany," recalling that he often pointed out to former
Chancellor Angela Merkel "that these pipelines would be harmful
for Europe and deadly for us Poles," because they are "the key
to Russian domination of the European market." Duda, however,
repeated that he is a staunch supporter of "good German-Polish
relations." (ANSA).
