The bill authorising Romania to
purchase 32 F-35 fighter planes from the United States was
approved by the Chamber of Deputies in Bucharest yesterday
evening, following an urgent procedure and at the request of the
government. The ball is now in the Senate's court, where it will
vote in the coming days on final approval of the project, which
will require the Balkan country to pay the United States 6.5
billion dollars.
