"Greece is monitoring regional
developments" and "adapting its position on migration and
refugee issues to new data, in the context of decisions by
European Union institutions." Pavlos Marinakis, Greek government
spokesman, made the announcement following a meeting of the
Government Council for National Security (Kysea), Greece's main
decision-making body on foreign affairs and defence, which
focused on the Syrian situation. The decision to suspend
decisions on asylum applications from Syrians currently in Greek
reception facilities until further notice was confirmed at a
meeting chaired by Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis,
according to Kathimerini.
