Ursula von der Leyen is "pontificating" about migrant reception
while doing nothing to help end Austria's blockade of Italian
heavy goods vehicles at the Brenner Pass, Deputy Premier and
Transport Minister Matteo Salvini said Wednesday. Salvini,
leader of the rightwing League party, accused the EC chief of
not signing the start of infringement proceedings against Vienna
for its restrictions on heavy goods traffic from Italy. "At this
point we trust in the justice of the European Court," he said.
"You can't pontificate at Italy's expense, seeking reception and
integration at Lampedusa, while blocking the border at the
Brenner Pass. "This government will put an end to this
