Napoli coach Rafa Benitez said
Tuesday that he was not counting on the club signing Belgium
defender Marouane Fellaini from Manchester United.
Napoli have been linked to Fellaini, who may leave the
English giants after a poor campaign last season following his
move from Everton.
"Fellaini is a Manchester United player, it depends on
them," Benitez, whose side face a playoff later this month for
entry into the Champions League group stage, told a press
conference.
"I have to work with the players I have and put pressure on
the chairman (to bring in reinforcements).
"I can't prepare for the playoff thinking about who will
arrive. Maybe I'll wait for a player with curly hair (like
Fellaini's) and then he does arrive and gets injured.
"Then what should I do, cut my veins?".
