The Israel-Gaza was must not become
the crisis that Hamas wanted when it attacked Israel on October
7, Premier Giorgia Meloni said at the presentation of ANSA's
PhotoAnsa 2023 annual book of photos in Rome Monday.
"We have to take time, the European Union can play a
non-secondary role, and the Palestinian National Authority is
playing an important role, to which we must restore a role," she
said at the event at the MAXXI modern art museum.
"The other priority we are dedicating ourselves to is that of
military aid, for the situation in Gaza, It's very important
that we should continue to do this work with the other nations,
towards a de-escalation. And then there is the dialogue with
Israel, which continues to be constant. We must work responsibly
so that the crisis de not become the conflict which in my view
Hamas wanted to obtain".
