A large wildfire that had raged in
the Sardinian area between Nuoro and Orune and was dangerously
close to a few urban centres was finally extinguished on
Tuesday.
Over 800 hectares of land have been burned, according to
preliminary estimates by local authorities.
Three Canadir planes and five helicopters were deployed since
the early hours of Tuesday to contain the flames, which
overnight moved close to Orani, Orotelli and Benetutti.
