A reported 6.5 million tourists have
chosen to spend their summer holiday in the mountains in 2024 -
up 1.7% on last year - with Cortina d'Ampezzo, Livigno and
Courmayer ranking at the top as the most popular destinations,
according to a survey published on Friday by Italian observatory
JFC.
With an average stay of 11.2 days, mountain resorts will
register 73 million presences this summer (up 0.8% on last
year), generating revenues of approximately 5.5 billion euros,
the survey said.
And the most popular destinations listed by the annual JFC study
were Cortina d'Ampezzo in Veneto with 1,874 preferences,
Lombardy's Livigno (1,741) and Courmayeur in Valle d'Aosta
(1.601 voti).
Madonna di Campiglio in Trentino ranked fourth with 1,568 votes,
followed by Ponte di Legno in Lombardy with 1,267.
Overall, according to the survey, Bormio, Pinzolo e Cortina
d'Ampezzo, were described by those polled as the most "relaxing
and calm" destinations.
Andalo, Courmayeur and Asiago were instead selected as the most
"family friendly" while Cortina d'Ampezzo was the most "fun and
youthful", followed by Livigno and Madonna di Campiglio.
Cortina also ranked at the top as the "trendiest", resort
followed by Santa Cristina and Courmayeur, said JFC.
