Centre-left Democratic Party (PD)
leader Elly Schlein, head of Italy's biggest opposition party,
on Friday hailed the US Democratic Party's nomination of Vice
President Kamala Harris to run against ex president Donald
Trump in the November 4 presidential elections in the USA.
Schelin said on Instagram:
"With her confirmation at the Chicago convention, Kamala Harris
is officially the Democratic nominee for President of the United
States of America.
"Accepting the nomination she made a dense speech of values and
prospects. On the right to healthcare, to study, to housing, to
jobs and to a decent pay. About the collective responsibility to
do something to fight injustices.
"She is the most qualified person to be the next President, she
has succeeded in rekindling hope and reopening the fight against
fear and hate, against Trump, who only wants to divide.
"Go Kamala, the Democratic Party too is behind you in this
crucial challenge!"
