Valentina Petrillo has been eliminated
from the women's 400m T12 semifinals at the Paris Paralympics
The 51-year-old Italian, who is believed to be one of the first
transgender athletes to compete in the Paralympics, finished
third in her heat but succeeded in establishing the Italian
record.
Visually impaired Petrillo scored her personal best with 57.58.
On September 6 she is set to compete in the women's 200m T12
event.
