World number one Jannik Sinner is
expected back in Italy after his historic US Open victory last
Sunday to support Italian players in action in Bologna for the
Davis Cup on September 15.
Meanwhile, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) still has time to
decide whether to appeal to the Lausanne-based Court of
Arbitration of Sport (TAS) against a decision by the
International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) which cleared
Sinner of responsibility for involuntarily taking a banned
steroid in April, Clostebol.
Under anti-doping rules, in fact, WADA still has 21 days after a
deadline that expired Monday granted to the other sides for a
potential appeal.
Meanwhile the other party potentially interested in an appeal,
Italy's anti-doping agency Nado Italia, has not filed it, as
reported earlier by ANSA.
