Israel's military attaché was
scheduled to meet with top Italian military officials on Friday
to discuss the details of a probe opened by Israel after the
IDF hit UNIFIL bases in southern Lebanon, including Italian
outposts.
The announcement was made in a statement issued Friday by the
Israeli embassy in Italy.
"As promised, Israel has opened an investigation into the latest
cases and will transmit the results in a transparent way to
Italy.
"In this regard, the Israeli military attaché will meet today
with Italian military commanders to illustrate the details of
the probe", the statement said Friday.
"Israel acts in a transparent way and in close cooperation with
Italy and with UNIFIL which operates on the ground, and is sorry
for any damage to the UN and the forces involved", it added.
