Italy's public debt moved closer to
the three-trillion-euro mark in October, increasing by 19.9
billion to a new record high of 2,981.3 billion, the Bank of
Italy said on Monday.
The central bank said the increase was determined by a public
sector borrowing requirement of 17.5 billion euros and an
increase in Treasury liquidity of 2.7 billion.
