The airport serving the
northwestern port city of Genoa resumed normal operations
Wednesday after a black-out due to torrential rains temporarily
disabled its air traffic control tower earlier in the day,
airport officials said. The blackout also incapacitated the
airport's radio frequencies and landing strip lights. Departing
planes took off with some delays, while incoming flights were
stalled at their originating airports and one flight had to be
rerouted.
