A 28-year-old Italian man on Monday
got life imprisonment for stalking and killing his 56-year-old
former girlfriend outside her Bologna home in August 2022.
The man, former lower league defender Giovanni Padovani, was
found guilty of murdering Alessandra Matteuzzi on August 23 that
year.
Matteuzzi was killed by kicking, punching, hammering and finally
hit with a bench.
The aggravating circumstances of stalking, emotional ties,
abject motives and premeditation, as requested by the
prosecution, were confirmed for the former player.
