A couple of parents are facing
possible trial after dressing their son up in 'balilla' Fascist
youth uniform to mark the 100th anniversary of Mussolini's March
on Rome in October 2022 at the dictator's birthplace of
Predappio in Emilia-Romagna.
Proecutors in nearby Forlì have asked for the parents to be
tried along with many other Fascist sympathisers who attended
the event on charges of braking two laws against reforming the
banned Fascist Party, local media reported Tuesday.
A preliminary hearing has been set for May 17, by which time the
supreme Cassation Court will have issued its keenly awaited
explanation of a mid-January ruling which apparently said that
fascist salutes are permitted for commemorations, but not when
there was the concrete risk of trying to restore the
Fascist party.
