The European Parliament on Tuesday
gave final approval to 446 million euros from the EU Solidarity
Fund being granted for floods that hit Italy's Emilia Romagna
and Tuscany regions in 2023.
Emilia Romagna will receive 378.8 million euros and Tuscany 67.8
million.
The funding is part of a wider package worth just over one
billion euros also earmarked for Slovenia, Austria, Greece and
France to respond to extreme weather events that affected them
last year.
The package was approved with 632 votes in favour, seven against
and three abstentions.
The assistance will cover the costs of emergency operations and
renovation.
