KUNA and ANSA on Monday signed a
collaboration accord that envisages the possibility for the
partners of utilizing their respective news and information
services for editorial use and for developing joint commercial
offerings in support of the communication of institutions and
businesses in the respective countries.
The accord was signed in a digital link between the two
agencies, in the presence of Italian Ambassador to Kuwait Carlo
Baldocci and Ambassador of Kuwait to Italy Nasser Sanhat
Alqahtani.
Ambassador Baldocci hailed the solid bilateral relations that
link Italy and Kuwait and voiced the hope that the two countries
will intensify and further develop their mutual relations in
various sectors including the press and media. He stressed that
the signing of the accord expresses the will of both countries
to promote mutual understanding and knowledge, through the
development of relations in the field of communication and
information, the exchange of visits by technical groups by the
two sides, the exchange of news and information on the media,
and so forth.
For Ambassador Nasser Sanhat Alqahtani "today's signing of this
accord between KUNA and ANSA is an important step forward that
renews and deepens the professional cooperation, already going
back 30 years, of the two main protagonists, news and
information actors in Kuwait and Italy; it also reflects the
strong mutual desire of our two countries to broaden cooperation
at all levels within the framework of fruitful relations of
strong friendship. The cooperation between KUNA and ANSA is also
one of the qualifying and underlying aspects of the ties of
dialogue and cultural interchange in various sectors, which bind
our two peoples and consolidate the excellent and growing
cooperation within the ambit of institutional relations whose
60th anniversary we are gearing to celebrate next year".
KUNA Director General Fatima Al-Salem hailed the depth and
prestige of the ties of friendship and cooperation between
Kuwait and Italy, underscoring the common desire to strengthen
them in various fields, including media. "KUNA wishes to build a
broad network of relations with ANSA and to reinforce joint
cooperation, with the aim of imagining an evolved future for the
sector of media and innovative media, which may elevate it while
preserving its mission, values and goals," she added, voicing
the wish that "the collaboration accord sealed today between
KUNA and ANSA may help consolidate an advanced model of media
cooperation as a platform for the exchange of news and highlight
the development pathways, as well as boosting cooperation in the
information field and improving and refining the competencies of
operators. The signing of the accord is part of the framework of
KUNA's desire to strengthen its presence on the international
arena and supply international press agencies, including ANSA,
with all the news on Kuwaiti affairs, and to spotlight the role
of the State of Kuwait in all fields, especially the political,
parliamentary, economic, cultural and humanitarian ones".
Managing Director Stefano De Alessandri voiced satisfaction at
the renewal of this collaboration with an historic partner:
"This new accord constitutes a confirmation and a broadening of
the work we have already been doing for some time with KUNA,
which represents an important reference point within the ambit
of the strategic area of the Middle East. As well as broadening
the availability of news and mutual knowledge between Kuwait and
Italy, this new accord also marks the occasion for the exchange
of experiences, as well as a further opportunity for the
development of commercial projects in support of the
communication of the institutions and companies of the two
countries".
