The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Mexico (Ccim), in collaboration with the Embassy and important universities and companies from the Bel Paese, will hold this year the fourth edition of 'Encuentro Creativo', an initiative that aims to motivate young Mexicans to pursue post-graduate studies or specialisation courses at Italian universities in the fields of fashion, design, architecture, cinema, artificial intelligence and sustainability, among other topics.
The project consists of a series of free virtual presentations aimed at students and graduates of creative paths, design and trend lovers, and people working in these fields.
The 2024 edition will be held from 14 to 18 and 21 to 25 October and will, as every year, feature recognised international experts on the topics it aims to promote as speakers.
At the press conference organised by Ccim to present the event, its director general, Faribah Gallardo, stressed the importance of combining Mexican creativity with international experience. "Italians know how to transform raw materials with innovation and technology. Our goal is for Mexican designers to learn these techniques and return to strengthen the national industry that already exists'.
The Italian ambassador, Alessandro Modiano, commented: 'Training and cultural exchange are important in a sector like this, which has a strong creative component. For us, having students and experts from the world of fashion and design who go to Italy to specialise and then return to Mexico is a long-term investment that creates strong ties between our two countries'.
Nine prestigious Italian universities of the disciplines and creative arts will participate in this edition: Accademia Italiana, Domus Academy, Ied, Iulm, Istituto Lorenzo de'Medici, Istituto Marangoni, Mfi, Naba and Polimoda.
