The Rome Public Prosecutor's Office
on Monday asked for eight years in jail for former rightwing
National Alliance leader, House Speaker and foreign minister
foreign minister Gianfranco Fini, defendant in a trial related
to the purchase of a flat in Monte Carlo.
Nine years have been requested for his partner Elisabetta
Tulliani.
The prosecutor has also requested a 10-year sentence for her
brother Giancarlo Tulliani and a 5-year sentence for their
father Sergio.
The charges also include the offence of money laundering.
"I hid from Gianfranco Fini my brother's intention to buy the
house in Monte Carlo.
"I never told Fini the origin of that money that I was convinced
was my brother's,' Elisabetta Tulliani said in court.
