President Sergio Mattarella told a
delegation of presidential chefs in Rome Monday that hey helped
cement ties between States.
Mattarella received the international chefs, members of the
"Club des Chefs des Chefs", at the Quirinale, saying: "The chefs
of the heads of State help in relations in a consistent and
effective way making meetings between heads of State more
welcoming."
The president then spoke of the culinary interaction that is
taking place today "between every country in the world" creating
"an enrichment and an opening of horizons that benefits young
people and the elderly like me.
"The world," he added, "is marked by some networks of
interconnections that are not only computer-based but also
economic, political, and sporting.
"Among the positive ones (because there are also negative ones)
are those of a cultural nature, including the science of
cooking.
"The interaction between you enriches and opens horizons in the
world".
