Carabinieri on Monday went to the culture ministry in Rome and obtained documents relating to former culture minister Gennaro Sangiuliano's suit against the former lover and ex consultant who caused his resignation, Maria Rosaria Boccia, judicial sources said.
Sangiuliano's successor Alessandro Giuli gave the police all the help they needed to get the relevant documents, Giuli said.
Fashion entrepreneur and influencer Boccia is under investigation for "threatening a political body of the state and aggravated injuries", after Sangiuliano filed a complaint against her last month.
Pompeii native Boccia, 41, claimed her 62-year-old lover gave her privileged access to plans for the recent Group of Seven Culture Summit at the ancient Roman site and that he had paid for flights and entertainment using public funds.
    He denies this.
Police have found a pair of smart glasses that the influencer, by her own admission, had previously used to make videos inside parliament - an activity that cost her a ban from entering Roman public offices. The Roman magistrates are set to analyze the available material and examine what is on Boccia's mobile phone and personal computer.
The Italian media have reported that Boccia made unspecified threats against Sangiuliano as well as allegedly falsely claiming to be pregnant by him.
Gossip mags have also run photos of the former minister with a large scratch on his forehead, allegedly caused by her.
