Patrick Vieira on Sunday scored his
first victory as Genoa coach after his team beat 10-man Udinese
2-0 in the northeastern city of Udine, moving the Liguria side
away from the Serie A relegation zone.
Isaak Toure was sent off in the fourth minute after smashing
Alessandro Zanoli in the face with an elbow.
The VAR On-Field Review led to a red card, reducing the hosts to
10 players for the entire match.
Genoa are currently 14th in the standings thanks to Sunday's
victory achieved with Andrea Pinamonti's close-range finish 13
minutes into the match and Lautaro Giannetti's 67th-minute own
goal.
"This is a victory that gives confidence", Vieira told a press
conference after the game, saying he was happy about the whole
team.
"It was a game played extremely well tactically because we
never really risked anything - we stayed focused", he said.
