The far-right Afd may win another
major in Germany, this time in Thuringia. Jörg Prophet won the
first round of elections in Nordhausen, a city of 41,400 people,
with 42.1% of the vote. The location is also well-known because
the Nazis built the infamous Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp
in the area between 1943 and 1945, where 60 thousand prisoners
were forced to work for the German armaments industry.
