(ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUL 26 - Twelve miners were slightly
injured when a stope at the Velenje coal mine, in Slovenia,
collapsed on Monday, but they were able to escape the pit on
their own. They were all referred to the community health
centre, the company running the mine, said, quoted by the
Slovenian news agency STA. Eleven miners were hurt in the most
recent incident in the mine in September 2019. The Velenje mine,
Slovenia's sole operating coal mine, will close as the nation
prepares to phase out coal by 2033. However, the plans could
change in light of the energy crisis, STA noted. (ANSA).
