The match left the Bianconeri still at 57 points, 12 points behind first-placed Inter Milan at 69.
The Azzurri, now at seventh place with 43 points, are instead back in the running for a slot in the Europa League.
In other results on Sunday evening, Bologna beat Atalanta 2-1 in Bergamo.
The Bologna side are in fourth place at 51 points and the Bergamo side in sixth place at 46 points.
