The debt of Italy's public
administration in June increased by 30.3 billion euros from the
previous month, reaching 2,948.5 billion, the Bank of Italy said
on Friday.
The central bank reported that "the increase reflected the
requirements of public administrations (15.3 billion) and the
growth of the Treasury's liquid assets (13.5 billion, to 45.5),
among others.
Meanwhile, the Bank of Italy said tax revenues in June amounted
to 42 billion euros, an increase of 9.9% (3.8 billion) compared
to the equivalent month in 2023.
It added that "in the first semester of 2024, tax revenues were
worth 248,8 billion euros, up 7.5% (17.5 billion) compared to
the same period last year".
