Winter sales are kicking off on
Thursday in the Valle d'Aosta region and on Saturday across
Italy.
An estimated 16 million families will be shopping discounted
items, with an average budget per person of 138 euros and of 307
euros per household for a total turnover of approximately 4.9
billion euros, according to a survey released by retailers'
association Confcommercio.
Nearly one in two consumers (46%) decided to buy at least one
product during the sales and a further 50% are expected to
evaluate the offers available before deciding what to get,
according to the pre-sale survey conducted by polling institute
Ipsos for Confcommercio.
